If cloning a virtual machine running RedHat Enterprise Linux, you need to edit the following.

  1. Remove and regenerate SSH keys in /etc/ssh/ssh_host_*
  2. Hostname in /etc/hosts (if present)
  3. Network settings /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-ens32 (for example)
  4. Delete the file /etc/sysconfig/rhn/systemid if it exists
  5. Register the new system with subscription-manager
